My story
I grew up in Saint Petersburg, Russia. At 14 I started traveling to the UK for language courses. English was how I got into a much bigger world.
In 2015 my husband Dmitry and I moved to Silicon Valley with an early-stage startup and a couple of thousand dollars in savings. The startup was LinguaTrip, and that year it went through the 500 Startups accelerator.
In 2021 Slow Ventures invested in me as a person. Instead of buying shares in a company, they bought a share of my future earnings. No creator had raised venture money this way before. I used part of it for my first angel investments. Today I've backed more than 20 startups.
In June 2025 I launched the Silicon Valley Girl podcast.
Why I started Silicon Valley Girl
For many people, Silicon Valley feels far away. It is where AI gets built, and it can seem to have little to do with their daily lives. Silicon Valley Girl helps you see the bridge between your life and Silicon Valley. My goal is to translate what AI means for your daily life.
For an entrepreneur, it means building things faster. For a mom, it means running the household with a few AI agents, and maybe in 10 years having a robot that does the laundry. For an artist, it means managing the whole production flow with AI.
So I interview the founders and scientists who build these tools, and I ask them to show me what I can do today to feel the magic of AI.
Guests have included Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn; Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of DeepMind; Aravind Srinivas, co-founder of Perplexity; Andrew Ng, co-founder of Coursera; Mo Gawdat, former chief business officer of Google X; Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors; and Anne Wojcicki, co-founder of 23andMe.

LinguaTrip and Linguamarina
Before the podcast, I co-founded LinguaTrip, a platform for booking language courses abroad, and built Linguamarina, my YouTube channel for English learners, which now has almost 9 million subscribers.
